Comments
These are a nocturnal burrowing snail. You will get a good idea of your
colony size when you first put on the light in the morning. They do aerate the
gravel for live plants. They do need some type on control. You can also put a
piece of zucchini with a rubber band to a rock. In the morning turn on the
light and there will be a pile. Really soft water will stop them from making
hard shells and they will die off. The are almost impossible to get rid of.
Nocturnal snail eating Macrobrachium sp. and Cambarellus shufeldtii i have
seen do a number on colonies. Puffer fish also love to eat them.
